Oscar-winner Mel Gibson is hoping to direct Lethal Weapon 5, according to The Sun. The actor has starred in the first four films, and mentioned in an interview that negotiations are underway for him to direct and star in another sequel in the long-running franchise.

If things move forward, Gibson would be stepping in for director Richard Donner, who died this year at 91 and had been developing another potential sequel with the actor. Although no plot details have been released, the film reportedly would be developed for HBO Max. Gibson, who won two Academy Awards for Braveheart, has made a variety of racist and anti-Semitic comments in the past, but has managed to steadily stay employed in Hollywood as an actor, director, and producer.

Gibson will also be playing a character named Cormac in the upcoming John Wick prequel TV series titled The Continental. The Continental is a three-part TV series coming to Starz and produced by Lionsgate Television. The prequel to the Keanu Reeves film series digs into the history of The Continental, the hotel featured in the movies. The main character is a young Winston Scott in 1975 New York. Come from Sports betting site VPbet

In addition to The Continental, John Wick 4 is in the works. Release dates for The Continental and John Wick 4 have not been announced yet. We’ll see Keanu Reeves next in The Matrix 4 Resurrections this December.

Lethal Weapon is one of the most popular action franchises of the ’80s and ’90s, with the last movie, Lethal Weapon 4, released in 1998. In more recent years, the series has been rebooted for TV, but it now seems that the original movie’s stars Mel Gibson and Danny Glover might return for a fifth movie. It would appear that neither of them are too old for s***, after all.
